ASA Non Approved Bat List
This information is being forwarded from the National Federation to everyone on the
LHSAA Email List.  This important information can also be found on the LHSAA website
under SOFTBALL.

The ASA updated the non approved bat list yesterday with the following bat models:

-Louisville Slugger SB82N TPS Nexus

-Miken Freak Limited Edition

-Mizuno Frenzy 120

-Mizuno Frenzy 120 RB 500

-Mizuno Original Techfire Orange Crush (marked with the word Original)

These bats were never intended to be certified by ASA and do not carry the ASA 2004
Certification Mark.  At the suggestion from many of you in the field, we will be adding an
element that denotes which bats were most recently updated but this element has been a
little more difficult programmatically that I originally thought so please be patient with your
critiques of this process.

In the next 7-10 days, you will also be able to download a new list that separates bats that
have been declared non approved by ASA and that also carry the ASA 2004 Certification
Mark.

Also, because ASA has the most restrictive bat standard in the industry and bat
“manufacturers” have made a conscious decision to continue to make bats that do not
comply with the standards set forth by the National Governing Body, this list will continue
to grow and our attempt to keep this list to one page will no longer be possible.

The non approved bat list is updated when we become aware that a licensed
manufacturer intends to make a bat that doesn’t comply with our standards and we are
also able to obtain a photo of this bat.  Sometimes, there is a lag time of several weeks
before we become aware of this situation.

Thanks for your continued support of ASA and the use of ASA certified equipment.
